How do I log in to my CMC Markets account?
Once we’ve sent you confirmation that your account has been opened and after you’ve verified your email address, you can log in to your account via our website. To log in, enter your registered email address and password.
Where can I find my account number?
On our desktop trading platform, your account number – sometimes referred to as your ‘Account ID’ – is in the top-left corner of the screen. Your account number can also be found in the email we sent you to confirm the opening of your account. If you use more than one of our products, you’ll have more than one account number. For example, you could have one account number for your CFD account, and a different account number for your spread betting account.
To find your account number(s) on an iPhone or iPad, select the 'More' button (with the three dots), then choose 'My Accounts'. Your account number(s) can be seen alongside your account type, for example ‘CFD’ or ‘Spread bet’.
On an Android device, tap the three lines at the top of the screen, then choose 'My Accounts'. Your account number(s) can be seen alongside your account type, for example ‘CFD’ or ‘Spread bet’.
How do I fund my account?
You can fund your account using a valid payment card or by transferring funds from your bank account. We do not accept cheques or cash deposits, nor do we accept American Express or Diners cards. Please ensure that any payment you make to fund your account is from a card or account in your name. Any payment or transfer from a third-party source will be rejected.
If you transfer funds to us from a bank outside the UK, additional charges may apply. Charges will be deducted from the payment amount and net proceeds credited to your trading account.
Any cards you wish to register to your account will need to be enrolled with 3D Secure (Verified by Visa or MasterCard Secure Code) for payments to be successfully credited to your account. Please note we only take deposit requests over the phone if your account is approaching margin call.
How do I place a trade?
On our desktop trading platform and mobile apps, select the buy or sell price for your chosen instrument, and an order ticket will appear. Choose between a market order, limit order, or stop-entry order, enter your trade size and any stop-loss or take-profit levels, and then place your trade by pressing the Place Buy Market Order or Place Sell Market Order button.
How can I reset my password?
You can reset your password by selecting ‘Forgot password?’ on the login page. We'll then send instructions for changing your password to the email address you use to log in to your account.
How can I switch between my different CMC Markets accounts?
It’s easy to switch between your CMC Markets accounts – for example, if you hold both CFD and spread betting accounts with us. If you’re using our desktop trading platform, go to the ‘My Accounts’ tab on the left of the screen and choose the account you wish to view from the list. Alternatively, click on your account number in the top-left corner of the screen and select the account you wish to view from the ‘Account Selection’ window.
If you’re using an iPhone or iPad, select the 'More' button (with the three dots), tap ‘Select Account’ and choose the account you wish to view. On an Android device, tap the three lines at the top of the screen, then tap anywhere in the blue section at the top of the side menu and choose the account you wish to view from the list.
Do you offer a demo account?
Yes, we offer a free demo account. It comes with virtual funds, allowing you to practise trading on our platform in a risk-free environment.
Please note that you can choose to activate prices for shares on a demo account for a calendar month – activating on the first day of any month offers the maximum amount of time to practise trading on shares.
Once you've opened a demo account, we’ll send a verification link to your registered email address. Simply select the verification link to activate your demo account.
What does CMC Markets do with my personal information?
We may use your information to make further enquiries about you, including checks to combat fraud. We do not sell your personal information to any third parties for marketing purposes.
