MT4 demo accounts remain active as long as you log in to your MT4 trading platform at least once every 30 days. If you don’t log in within that timeframe, your account will automatically be closed. You can set up a new demo account again at any time in the future.
For your demo account, you will need to use: “CMCMarkets1-Demo”
For your live account, you will need to use: “CMCMarkets1-Live”
Yes - MT4 can be used on Android and Apple devices. Simply search for ‘MT4’ in the app store.

You can access our most recent product offering by right-clicking in the ‘marketwatch’ window and selecting ‘show all.’
The maximum trade size varies depending on the product.
For more specific product information, right-click on the product inside the ‘marketwatch’ window and select “specification.” This will provide more detailed information about minimum and maximum trade size for that product.
The MT4 platform is free. Standard holding costs and spreads apply to most products as with our Next Generation trading platform.

You can see your balance and also generate an MT4 trading statement in the MT4 portal itself. Your MT4 account statements and balance can also be accessed within the Next Generation admin portal.
You can access this by clicking on “Statement Centre” located in the Account tab, which is found on the main menu.
To add an EA, open MT4 and go to ‘file.’ Then ‘open data folder’. Choose ‘MQL4’, and then ‘expert advisors’ or ‘indicators’.
You can then copy the file you want to add and drag/drop it into your preferred location. Close and reopen MT4, and you should see the item in the navigator window.

MT4 is designed to be used on a PC using what is called a .NET framework. This framework is not currently supported by Mac.
To view your trade history through MT4, log in to MT4 and go to the 'terminal' window.
Choose the 'account history' tab at the bottom of the terminal window. From here you can right click anywhere within the window; this will prompt you to select which history you'd like to download.
You can also view your trade history through your Next Generation account.
Select 'Positions' in the bottom left of the screen on the iPhone app (or from the left side menu on Android devices), and choose the position that you would like to add the stop-loss or take-profit order to, then select ‘Stop Loss’ or ‘Take Profit’.
From the 'More' menu on Apple devices or from the side menu on Android devices, choose 'Settings' and then 'Market Data Feeds'.
On Apple devices, select the 'More' button and then 'Account Details'. On Android devices, select the side menu (button with three lines) or swipe from the left and select 'Account Details'.
Select the product from either a watchlist or the product library, choose your product and select 'Overview' in the top left.
On the iPhone app, tap the ‘More’ button, then ‘Switch Accounts’. On the Android app, select ‘Switch Accounts’ on the left side menu.
Within 'Positions', select the position you would like to partially close, then click the red 'x' icon and amend the stake, number of units or amount you wish to reduce the position by.
We use the internationally accepted security system SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) for all account functionalities, including fund deposits and withdrawals. This system is automatic and you will receive an instant notification if your browser does not support it.
The price feeds on our share CFDs are deactivated by default due to the costs we incur from the relevant exchanges. If you open a chart or view the share CFD in the product library, you can 'Click to Activate' the appropriate market data feed for the region where that product trades.
If you select 'Account' and then 'History', you can view your history for different timeframes. Filter by selecting 'date/time' in the top left-hand corner and also filter by 'type' to just view payments in, for example. You can export your account history as a pdf or excel file using the icons in the bottom left-hand corner.

Select the account number in the top-left hand side of the screen or select the power on/off icon in the top right-hand side, and then choose 'Switch Accounts'.
On the web platform, select the arrow on the left-hand side of the product or the three lines from the top left of a chart, and choose 'Product Overview'. From this window you can view the previous 30 days' worth of holding rates. For more information on how to calculate these costs, please visit our CFD holding costs.
From the 'Account' menu, select 'Statement Centre', where you can choose to download a daily, monthly or annual statement or have it emailed to you. Alternatively, from 'history' in the 'account' menu, select 'date/time' and choose a date range, and then via the icon in the bottom left-hand corner of the history window, download a statement as a .pdf or .csv.

For optimum platform performance, you will need to ensure that you have a fast and stable internet connection. If you find that the platform is not running as quickly as it normally does, we would suggest that you clear your browser’s cache (including images), clear the browser cookies and restart the browser session. Reducing the number of technicals on any charts open on your platform may also improve this issue.
If you experience similar problems with our mobile platform, please force close the app on your phone and restart it. If you continue to experience problems you may need to upgrade to the latest version of our app.

Market data can be activated by selecting 'User Preferences' in the top right-hand corner (look for the person symbol), followed by 'Market Data'. Yes, you can pop charts out into a separate browser window. You are also able to choose 'Restore down' in the top-right corner of your browser window, and then drag a corner of the browser to expand the platform over as many screens as you like.
Access the 'Product Overview' by selecting the '>' icon alongside at the name of the product within the library. The product overview includes information on spread, margin rates, trading hours and holding costs.
